History of King David Mortuary
Family is the most precious thing we have and is one of our greatest sources of identity, as they leave legacies for future generations. The ongoing connection we have to family and to Judaism says a lot about who we really are and the lives we led. In order to preserve these memories to their fullest and respect the time-honored traditions of the Jewish community, a family needs a sacred space for reflection, solitude and memorialization.
In 2001, in response to the needs of the Jewish community, Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries, serving the Las Vegas community since 1926, established the King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery. This is the only memorial chapel and cemetery combination in southern Nevada dedicated exclusively to the Jewish community and is endorsed by the entire rabbinic community of southern Nevada.
King David continues the commitment of serving families with a high standard of professional and personal service, and is proud to be a Jewish provider within the Dignity Memorial® network of more than 1,800 funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Dignity Memorial providers offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library. As North America’s largest provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services, the Dignity Memorial brand is your assurance of quality, value, caring service and exceptional customer satisfaction.
King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery is also proud to be a member of the Jewish Funeral Directors Association (JFDA). Founded in 1932, the JFDA is dedicated to assisting members of the Jewish community to arrange meaningful and dignified funerals in the Jewish tradition.
